The Office Superitendent Mrs. Valsa Mathew Coordinates the overall office network.
Main Office performs the following:-
- Coordinating between various Branches/ Departments of the branch.
- Preparing agenda for Board meetings.
- Preparation of Electoral Rolls.
- Coordinating various other National level programs like Pulse Polio etc.
- Maintaining and handling, Land records, Lease of lands and related work.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9 am to 5.30 pm)
Saturday is a working day for outdoor staff.
POWERS AND DUTIES OF ITS OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES.
The duties of the President Cantonment Board are laid down in Section, Cantonment Acts, 2006, which primarily pertains to control, direction and supervision of the financial and executive administration of the Board. The duties of the Chief Executive Officer are laid down in the various sections of the Cantonments Act, but the same primarily emanate from section 25 of Cantonments Act, which includes complying with every requisition of the Board on Cantonment Administration and exercising all powers and performing all duties imposed under the act. The duties of the Cantonment Board employees are prescribed by the Executive Officer.
DECISION MAKING PROCEDURE, CHANNEL OF SUPERVISION AND ACOUNTABILITY.
The Cantonment Board is a body corporate having perpetual succession with power to acquire property, to contract, sue and be sued. The decisions of the Cantonment Board are taken by a meeting of the Board every month by a majority decision. In case of a tie, the President has the casting vote. The CEO is the Executive organ of the Board as also the Secretary of the Board and advises the Board as well as complies with lawful resolutions of the Board.
The non-supervisory board employees are appointed by the CEO whereas the supervisory staff are appointed by the Board. Same holds good in respect of their disciplinary proceedings. The Cantonment Board employees are regulated by Cantonment Fund Servants Rules and Central Civil Services Rules. The CEO is governed by Central Civil Service Rules, being an officer of Central Civil Service.
The Cantonment Board Civil members are regulated by section 28 to section 30 Cantonments Act. All the Cantonment Board members are required to take oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India.
